Britain’s oldest surviving car brand
Vauxhall traces its origins to a marine-engine business established in the Vauxhall district of London in 1857. It built its first car in 1903, moved to Luton in 1905 and developed into one of the best-known names in British motoring. The Griffin badge was adopted in 1915.
Who owns Vauxhall now?
Vauxhall is part of Stellantis N.V., the publicly traded automotive group formed in 2021 when Groupe PSA and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles combined. It is the British sister brand of Opel and shares much of its engineering, platforms and model range with Opel and other Stellantis brands.
