QUICK ANSWER
What to do
Start with at least 15% battery, inspect the charge port and V2L equipment, connect the adaptor while the load is switched off, then start discharging from the adaptor.
STEP BY STEP
Follow these steps
- 1
Park safely, unlock the vehicle and disarm the anti-theft alarm.
- 2
Confirm the battery state of charge is at least 15% and estimate the range you will need afterwards.
- 3
Keep the appliance or load switched off while connecting.
- 4
Inspect the adaptor, plug and charge port for water, corrosion, cracks or other damage.
- 5
Connect the compatible V2L adaptor fully to the vehicle charge port.
- 6
Press the switch on the discharge socket. The manual says its indicator remains red when the socket is available.
- 7
When finished, disconnect the load first, unlock the vehicle, remove the adaptor and close the charge-port cap and door.
GOOD TO KNOW
Before you finish
- V2L is restricted when the battery state of charge becomes low.
- Remove the adaptor when it is not in use because leaving it connected increases the vehicle's standing power consumption.
- Use only compatible, undamaged equipment intended for the vehicle.
